Antonio Fernández Carriedo
Gender:Male
Age:24
Ethnicity:Spanish
Sexuality:Bisexual
Occupation: Part-time cafe worker and student.
True Name: Undiscovered as of yet.
Role: Sacrifice
Appearance: Blessed with the typical Mediterranean good-looks, Antonio stands at an even 5'10 and displays a lean body toned with hard muscles from a working life and partially dangerous recreations. His face has an angular look to it, with a sharp jawline and high cheek bones that tend to make him seem all that more thin and wiry in contrast to the rest of his body. On top of all this, presides a mop of shaggy brown hair that looks to be in dire need of something, God knows what. As a naturally lazy person, however, Antonio tends to leave his hair and pretty much everything else to it's own devices. In fact, what you see walking towards you down the street was probably the product of wet hair or bed head and most of the time not even a brush as had the graces of meeting his hair. If he can remember his brush, good, if he can't, well his hair just tends to be a bit more crazier than normal.
Beneath this wavy, sun-lightened brown jumble, is huge green eyes that are the very projection of his child-like mindset and it's innocent glory. However, if you are expecting to find his ears and tail, you are sadly mistaken. They were somehow lost despite his utter clueless attitude to the hints of flirtations and small flourishes of the local girls. Surprisingly he managed to hang on to them for a while though, not losing them until he entered his rebellious stage where his pairing of alcohol and array of wing men didn't help keep his purity. Such a shame too, his ears and tail had such a pretty design on them.
Befitting his hair and attitude towards life, Antonio's wardrobe pretty much consists of whatever he comes across in his meager closet. Most of the time you can find him in t-shirts and normally jeans or khakis. If he were to dress up, there would be a simple tie tied in a ribbon fashion around the neck of his shirt since someone slacked in showing him how to tie the things when he was growing up.
From his rebellious teenage years that are still somehow living on in occasional moments, you can find one of his ears still pierced although he has taken out whatever was in there years ago. Along with that, he bares many scars from fights and many other dangerous activities he decided to unwisely take part in throughout his life. Like for example his bull-fighting scar, which runs from one shoulder down towards the middle of his stomach. That one is quite pretty and was even prettier to get. Just ask him about it sometime, he might tell you all about the stories of his adventures. Antonio bares no jewelry but a simple cross necklace on a cord tied loosely around his neck. Everything else he has collected from his old home is kept stored and is rarely taken out.
Personality: A definitely different individual, Antonio is never one to let any of his life pass him by and will jump into any situation readily and without a single before-hand thought about how this could affect him in the long run. In fact, even afterwords he tends not to think of the very real danger of his actions unless it is specifically pointed out by one of his friends. What's this? You're tying a rope to this piece of metal and jumping of the roof? Expect Toni to be one of the first people off the roof, screaming for his life and trusting that everything will work out okay and hold up for him.
He completely trusts the weight of the world and everyone in it, preferring to give everyone a chance before he develops any feelings of mistrust and hate. He will literally trust someone he just met with his life and will believe any word that is being said before him. He's more of the type to ask questions later and believe everything first hand, which although endearing, isn't the slightest bit smart. It's actually kind of interesting how childishly he views the world, expecting it to be a place full of good, honest people that wouldn't want to do him any harm. Therefore it often falls to his friends to look out for him and make sure that he isn't walking off into a dark alley way with someone he just met, although it's completely funny to watch the outcome of these situations and he is often left alone just for the laughs of everything.
Another interesting aspect of Antonio is that he is completely and utterly clueless when it comes to being hinted at in social situations. He isn't the best at getting and understanding implied meanings and is therefore very blunt in his own demeanor and sometimes very, well, clueless about everything. He pretty much just drifts through all social encounters chattering away any random thought that comes to his head and expecting everyone to be just as straightforward in everything. Also expect it to take him a while to understand things as a lot of the time he is only half-listening and therefore not really thinking about a lot of the things you tell him. He can also be a just the tiniest bit insensitive to the feelings of those around him, bursting out sometimes in totally inappropriate situations due to the fact that he is slightly unable to read atmosphere. Nor does he express any desire to.
Very laid-back, Antonio is perfectly fine if you do stuff at your own pace and feels no rush to do anything at all. He prefers to do what he wants, when he wants, and whenever he wants. So honestly you could spend days of doing nothing with him only to spend the next day doing something completely crazy and exciting. He also isn't very good at fast-paced work environments since he tends to move slowly and lazily unless inspired and passionate about something, which leads us to our next topic.
Antonio is crazily passionate about a ton of stuff. Food, sports, life, you name it and he can probably come up with enough zeal and excitement to last centuries. You can always say that he is always optimistic and happy to support any friend. Also if he cares about you, expect him to act like a mother-goose, it's just his way of showing that he cares.
However, under all the excitement and happiness , there are still remains of childish rebellion and a fighting will that can be a bit scary at times. For example if you even think of messing with one of his friends or family, he won't hesitate to leap into a fight and do whatever it takes to win, even if it means being completely ruthless and insensitive for a while. Also, if you get him drunk, everything goes down a whole different road and it is advised that you take him home carefully and keep as far away as you can after that. This is when he truly reverts back to his anger and childish cruelty and it's not very pretty.
Likes:
Tomatoes: A childhood favorite, Antonio has always loved the bright vegetable and it's magnificent taste. In fact, he often eats it as you would an apple or a pear, preferring it's plain taste to any other snack that could be offered.
Animals (particularly turtles): Always a sucker for the cute and furry, Antonio almost always unintentionally has something on him somewhere whether it be a little turtle perched on his shoulder from playing with his pet and forgetting to put it back, or at one point even an octopus from going to a restaurant and simply scooping it out of the tank to cuddle with it. (That didn't go over well, he kinda stole the octopus and released it, needless to say being kicked out of the restaurant forever.)
Children: Antonio has always been a good caretaker and babysitter to those younger than him and while his ties to his own younger siblings have kind of been screwed up, he still has a knack for dealing with kids and looking after them. Maybe because his own mindset isn't too far past that of a two-year-old.
Shiny things: Have a pretty ring or perhaps even a shiny piece of jewelry? Expect Antonio to be attracted to it like a bee to honey. He absolutely loves anything that sparkles and oftentimes will borrow things from his friend's house just to parade around with it at home and play with it everywhere he goes. It's like a magnet and it would probably be a good idea to watch him if your out somewhere and his attention gets diverted, otherwise you might just become two new jewel thieves.
Fútbol: No, not fútbol americano, but good old fashioned fútbol. In fact, he's actually quite obsessed with the sport and tends to want to play it a lot whatever the conditions outside at the moment. He grew up playing it, and will probably play it to the day he can no longer run and kick a ball.
Bull-fighting: A sport that originated in his home country, and a quite dangerous one at that, Antonio loves bull-fighting almost as much as he loves soccer and even has the scars to prove it.
Adventures: Ever since he was a child, he has dreamed of adventures and exciting lifestyles in all different forms. From pretending he was a pirate on the high seas, to pretending to be a king in the orchard trees, Antonio's dreams of excitement have never left him but have only changed a little bit. The definition of a adrenaline junkie, he will try anything once and usually doesn't realize how dangerous something is until someone points it out, if ever.
Friends: A social creature by nature, Antonio is definitely not one to spend his days quietly all by himself. His definition of a good time is enjoying himself as noisily as possible with his friends and even getting dragged into adventures that will probably get him into trouble in some way or another. If he isn't the one accidentally taking people into adventures, that is. Either way, if you're his friends you will find that he will pretty much follow you to the ends of the earth, whether you want to work that to your advantage or not is your decision.
Dislikes:
Work: Why in the world would you work when you can just lay back and take a little rest? Or perhaps find something more fitting for your time? Toni doesn't like working, he never has. One of the only reasons he sticks with it is because of the fact that he's gotten way to close to being kicked out onto the street many times.
Silence: To a boy who spent his entire life in a household full of children, activity, and loud noises, Antonio is honestly not used to the idea of silence can be a good thing. Instead, he treats it like a plague and tries to avoid it at all costs. Which isn't hard since you honestly can barely get him to shut up in the first place.
Unfairness: Who doesn't hate this? Toni's definition might be slightly different as to what is unfair or not and what gives a good excuse to think of it as this extreme. For example, a bigger kid who has had much more experience in life against a five-year-old. That is unfair. However if you are getting kicked after going down in a fight, that is not unfair. It's wrong, sure, but not unfair.
Being alone: Something he absolutely loathes is not enjoying the company of anybody at any moment in the day. Even if he has to go outside and talk to a complete stranger, which most people fear for some reason that is completely unfathomable to Toni, he will do it and probably embarrass himself unknowingly in the process. While little siestas are nice where he doesn't have to be in sight of somebody, he just has to know they are there and close to him. This little habit of his often leads him to spending almost all his time at his friend's houses.
No passion: To him, passion is what makes the world go 'round. Without someone sharing that passion with you or just the lust for life, it gets depressing.
Boredom: There will never be a dull moment in the life of Toni and his friends, that's for sure. You always have to be doing something that counts as fun or relaxing, or something. You can never have anything left that you haven't done before.
Rejection: Why it's the worst feeling in the world to try and share something with somebody only to be rejected, whether it be your friendship or love, it honestly sucks for everybody. Now most of the time Antonio isn't paying enough attention to any situation to notice rejection, but if he does catch it he hits it hard.
Fears:
Something bad happening to those he cares about: Definitely one to care about family and those he cares about enough to call friends, it's an intense fear of his that something bad will happen to someone he loves and it will be all his fault. He doesn't try to be a hero to everyone, in fact he can be extremely clueless in a lot of situations that involve complete strangers and being their personal savior, but he absolutely can't let anything happen to those he shares blood with or just about blood. Now, he's not going to leave you at the side of the road dying if you're a complete stranger, I mean he's a good guy (or tries to be) but he's not going to stay up worrying about saving everyone. It's like he's got tunnel vision or something and can only see certain people and his worries for them most of the time.
Being beaten: Much to his chagrin, Antonio is no stranger to losing fights and losing important stuff to him. He's lost plenty of stuff in the past and it won't be the last time he loses a fight in his life, however he always fears not the physical pain of a fight, but what happens afterward. He worries about the aftermath of when the fists come out to play and actually kind of fears this aspect of something that takes up so much of his life. Say you were his opponent and you beat him, then left him bleeding in the gutter and took everything he had on him at the moment, that's exactly what he fears.
Death: Brought up to be a good religious guy with a sense of right or wrong doesn't mean he can't fear his absolute and ultimate fate. While he knows in some sense it isn't the end, he absolutely loathes and fears the day he will die. Anything about death gets him ready to flee the topic, whether it be how it comes about, where it comes about, or the day it comes about it's a guaranteed way to get Antonio uncomfortable and quiet quicker than you can say a word else.
Strengths:
Can take a hit: From being in many fights, Toni has learned how to take hits and the fact that it is better to remain standing than any other alternative. In other words he will try to do anything to persevere through any pain received, especially if it's for someone he cares about (which of course his named partner will be).
Optimism: Leave it to one of the happiest kids all grown up to be constantly smiling and a ray of sunshine constantly. (Except when he gets drunk) If you happen to be beating up on yourself or just simply feeling sad and depressed, just give Toni a call and leave it to him to make everything a hundred times better. Honestly, the kid almost never fails in not being positive and energetic.
Weaknesses:
Slow: Not one to grasp things quickly and with much precision, you must allow for things that are particularly big time to slip past Toni's normal half-listening skills and reach his thought process. Which will take a few moments if he doesn't completely disregard in the first instant that is. You might have to take to repeating things to get him to listen and heed what you are saying.
Lazy: One of the things that got him in trouble often with his family on the farm, Antonio has quite the habit of taking many siestas and ignoring things that he has to do in favor for fun recreations. Try to make things a game and get him interested or you might just be chasing him down like his father did.
History: Antonio's birth was no more special to his parents than it was to an absolute and complete stranger whom happened to be passing by the day they were in market selling wares, which was exactly where everything happened. On a sunny February day, the second to be exact, he was born in the middle of his parents trying to sell their wares from their simple little farm in the big city of Madrid, Spain. This trip had been so big to them, and they had saved up for so long that his mother had simply located the nearest hospitable with the help of a local girl passing by while his father had taken only a long enough break to see his second son come into the world. It wasn't that he didn't care for his own child, the almost perfect copy of him in fact, it was just that someone had to watch the wares and their firstborn was simply to young to be of much use other than to cry and watch with fascination at what was now his younger brother. So, Antonio entered the world in an utter casual and peaceful haze, very suiting for the child who would prove himself to be one of the happiest out of the entire family.
A very happy and calm kid, he was a favorite of his mother's for his non-fussy ways and unwavering happiness which in contrast quickly got on his father's nerves. While the amount of children multiplied and the workload was able to increase, Antonio remained constantly lazy and spent most of his time hiding among the farm from his older brother and father whom would take to anything to get him to see sense in that if he worked, there would be money and the more money there was, the more food they could have. Yet, everything was to no use and they soon gave up hope of talking sense into the kid and instead just punished him every time they saw him lazing around among the orchard tree limbs, hiding among the bushes, or if he even just got in their line of sight, particularly his father's.
Life went on peacefully and well for a time until his mother got sick and died, leaving a busy father and a pack of children to run the household from that point forward. Having already helped his mother with taking care of the young children, Antonio immediately made it his job to look after everyone and make sure they were all accounted for at the day's end. He also started to work not only among his own family's farm but in another as well, trying to draw in double income at the ripe young age of 15. To add onto all these responsibilities, he was constantly the one to draw upon his father's rage so it could be taken out on him instead of the other children, a sort of teenage punching bag for the family.
It wasn't until he was 16 that something finally snapped and he and his father got into one of the biggest fights the entire family had ever known. Angry, Antonio turned more rebellious, turning to the dangerous art of picking fights with older guys, doing everything in his power to make life living hell, and of course doing anything a typical rebellious teenager does best. He drank, he snuck out, he shirked his responsibilities, he stole, and often had to look to his older brother for help to get him out of sticky situations like getting caught and getting put in the town jail or coming home drunk and hungover (which is honestly not very pretty with Antonio who becomes almost the exact opposite of a loving and kind person). This behavior and constant reliability caused an even bigger rift to split between them and they were left with an irreplaceable and broken relationship.
Eventually though, things were able to be somewhat resolved and Antonio came back to his fun-loving and natural caring state of mind for his family until he turned 18. It was then that he decided it would be better if he just moved on for a while and let the old wounds among his family heal before he attempted to make peace with everyone. So, he gathered his money and let the wind blow him to the UK and to his final resting place for the time being in Blackpool. He was able to finish his schooling at a local high school and get his grades up to be accepted into the local university. He now works to pay it off while studying to become a chef.

"Antonio! Antonio!" There was no mistaking the sound of a panicked child in desperate need, something that sent most parent's hearts racing and their instincts into overdrive as they ran out to whatever offending danger was lurking. It was no different for the older brother whom had been lazing in one of the orchard trees for midday break, instantly getting his attention and sending him rolling off the tree limb with a practiced grace to take care of whatever dared mess with his siblings. After all, it was his fault for even thinking of taking a nap while the eldest, a mere 13, had been put in charge by him to do his duties of making sure everyone was safely occupied until they could be herded in for the night. Now safely on the ground, his eyes automatically searched his surroundings for anything of immediate danger before finding his little sister's teary gaze, staring up at him in a mixture of pitiful hope. It was a look that meant whatever was wrong must be taken care of by him and only him, he was the one to play mother now and it was his job to comfort and protect whenever the need arose. Which happened to be right now.
Immediately he knelt down to her level and stared at her with as much concern as a big brother could put into a single gaze. "What's wrong chica?" He murmured gently, smoothing down her hair in a gesture of caring patience. If the situation was dire enough they wouldn't have sent one of the youngest running for him, or they might have if they were too panicked to think of anything else and the little chica had wanted comfort. A little seed of worry planting itself in Antonio's gut as he thought of the endless possibilities of what could go wrong while he was not around, he waited tensely for the little girl to catch her breath and stop crying long enough to tell him what he was about to face.
"They are beating up nuestros hermanos!" She wailed after a moment's pause, closing the small distance between them and burying her head in Antonio's shirt. His face hardened and he barely registered the little girl clinging to his shirt and wetting it with her tears. Gently he pried her off before hoisting her back up into a carrying position so he could run towards his brother's rescue. "There!" She pointed a small finger in the direction she had come from before burying her tears into his shoulder once more.
Antonio didn't have to run far before he reached the scene of chaos. His dark green eyes, darkened even more with slight anger, surveyed the disgraceful scene of five boys his own age giving pointers to their own little brothers beating up his. Gently putting down the little girl into the embrace of one of the older sisters, Antonio watched as one of the elders kicked Toni's brother back towards the fight, sneering at him and calling out taunts. Bracing himself, Antonio didn't need anymore provocation before he flew at the same boy, knocking him down and rolling around in the dirt like the younger kids, beating at each other with bare fists and feet and snarling anger into each other's faces. Catching the interest of the boy's companions, it wasn't long before they diverted their attention on to the new fight and clustered around, ready to leap in if the need arose and satisfying themselves with shouts of enthusiasm in the meantime.
The boy was stronger than Antonio, but he was quicker and had the upper hand which resulted in a mostly fair fight that was obviously not going anywhere for a while. That is, until Antonio slipped. Hitting the ground hard, he signaled an unseen treaty to be broken among the boys and they all jumped on him, fighting with a pack mentality as they thrashed him. Even the younger boys were starting to falter in their fight, pausing mid-punch to gawk at the older boys, fighting much more roughly and better than they could ever hope to.
Injuries were being passed around as easily as they went, inflicting pain on both sides of the fight even though they outnumbered Antonio four to one. It wasn't said that he wasn't receiving the worst of it, but he sure was fighting as hard and as determined as a wildcat, trying his best to take anyone down with him.
"ENOUGH." The shout overpowered the boy's own shrieking war cries and yells of pain to cause utter and complete silence to ensue. Much like the younger boys had done for the older boys, the fighting stopped and everyone turned their heads towards the shout, the quiet peace deafening. There stood Antonio's father, older brother, and a few farm hands whom had been working in exchange for a good meal here or there and a portion of the crops to take home to their family. Well respected men among the community along with the angry faces and bigger bodies caused everyone to let go of everyone and take a huge step apart from each other. All except for those who were too hurt to get up or do anything else for that matter except groan and move their eyes. "Get out of here. You're wrecking our crops, trespassing with malice on our land, and harming some of the only help I have to ensure we get the food in time before the harvest season ends. Go on, before I do worse than tell your parents."
In an instant the older boys and their younger siblings were gone, shrinking away from the older men and their threats, carrying their wounded among them to try and explain their case in a better light before Antonio's father had a chance to speak to their parents.
As soon as they were gone, his father stepped slowly and deliberately to his second son, ignoring the other children still left on the ground in favor to criticize his personal pain. "What are you doing? You're supposed to be working." He stated plainly, blankly as if he didn't care what happened to any of his children as long as they could work in the long run.
A hot surge of anger flashed through his blood and for a moment he thought about taking on his old man, already aching from the last fight. Before he could put his plan into action however, his father was gone, already losing interest in the matter. "You. Go. Help him back to the house if he needs it and if he doesn't, just make sure he goes anyway." He grunted, pointing at one of the skinnier farm hands, whom could be spared for a few moments to act as an escort.
Immediately the boy jumped to it, helping Antonio up and letting him put an arm around him to hobble down the short road to their family home. "You're the worst hurt, don't worry about your siblings." The farm hand murmured, noticing Antonio's constant worried glance behind them. "And if you're the not the worst hurt yet, you will be by the time your father has a chance to get to you."
