Francis Renaut Bonnefoy
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Ethnicity: French
Sexuality: Pansexual
Occupation: Catering chef
True Name: Shameless. Francis is a very bold individual who doesn't find any shame in his actions. He finds himself perfect in most aspects and doesn't believe what he does is wrong - after all, while he is shameless with most romantic advances, he knows which boundaries he shouldn't cross. The Name doesn't only describe his actions, but his thought process as well. There is an air of confidence and pride radiating off of him, and very rarely does he ever retreat due to self-conscience or low self esteem. He thinks highly of himself and makes sure to show it. The Shameless mark appears on the small of his back.
Role: Sacrifice
Appearance: He's roughly 5'9, skin fair and looking quite healthy due to the excessive care he takes regarding his appearance. One could say he has quite a feminine look to him, since his hair is what he cares for the most. It spills over his shoulders in wavy blond locks; or in other occasions put up in a ponytail or braid or whichever it is he feels like sporting, always careful not to cover medium blue eyes. Thin hair is located just about everywhere on his body, a shortened stubble lining his chin. His form is lean, muscular where it isn't overly noticeable. If anyone is expecting to see a pair of ears on him, they're quite mistaken.
Personality: Difficult to go without notice and not always flattering to many, this man radiates charm and charisma without having to speak a word. His appearance and outward approach is egotistical and flaunting, thinking himself flawless and perfect in all that he does. He’s precise to put in effort into a good first impression, bearing a blatantly conceited mind that leads him to believe he emits a personality everyone loves. And although that isn’t always willingly embraced by everyone, he’s forced a hardened self-esteem unto himself that allows him to brush negativity and initial judgments off like it’s nothing.
It’s evident he cares for and maintains a clean appearance, never lazy when it comes to his choice of attire in public. He’s habituated with wearing bright and flashy colors that stand out amongst the rest, in accordance with matching designs and only the most chic of styles that either match what trend is most popular, or fit in with the time of season. His hair is most well kempt above all, and while he might not mind if a speck of dirt finds its way onto his clothing, something dirtying his hair will be an atrocity. He’s a strong believer in being natural, not often one to enjoy using things such as make-up and hair products to define him - he thinks he, and anyone else, for that matter, is beautiful enough without the use of such additions. His body is laced with hair in all the right places, and he isn’t one to shy away from shedding his clothing at any time, expected or not, and go parading nude amongst prying eyes. He’s enamored with the human form and all aspects of the body, encouraging that others share his bravery in doing so. There will occasionally be a conveniently placed flower to act as a censor down between his legs, though he never quite finds reason for anyone to have to cover themselves up in such ways. Shameless of himself, he has the tendency to go on boasting and bragging about his appearance in any circumstance.
Tying in with his lack of shame, it isn’t an understatement to say he thinks very highly of himself and his home country. He finds France and all things French: the language, the culture, the cuisine, the architecture, the literature and the people to reign superior, tending to overlook any flaws and avoid the fine print in speaking of the subject. While he’s reluctant in speaking English, he takes it upon himself to initiate a heavy accent in his speech in order to hold onto something relative to his mother tongue. He will show little interest in knowledge when it comes to details of other countries, though different nationality certainly will not stop him from investing in another person. Though his self esteem is high, he won’t use it to bring someone else down by harsh judgments based on their ethnicity. His nationalism can send him into spouts of dreamy speech and longing for home whenever he speaks of it, and simply put he’s just a very prideful person about his land. Even with this sense of narcissism, he’ll be more than obliging to introduce someone else to his culture, spoiling them with the various samples and tastes of his culture.
He likes referring to his country as the land of love, and will take it upon himself to set a proper example of that. Perhaps it comes naturally, but he’s set on a very flirtatious nature when it comes to interaction. He’s broad and lenient in his choices of interest, accepting of people no matter their gender, age, size or orientation. Most often he will be awfully blunt in his speech, though at other times he will carefully choose his words in order to impress and hold somebody’s attention. He’s never one to be shy and he won’t hold back on his opinions of someone, offering compliments or something more no matter what the situation is. He doesn’t believe in any notion of strangers being dangerous, and rather he thinks that everyone who is anyone deserves a few sweet words or something of the sort to brighten their day. He tends to spoil people of interest with that sort of attention, regardless of whether or not it leaves them flustered - since a well-earned blush will only encourage him to continue rather than stop while he’s ahead. While he might be overbearing in his approach, his aspiration is simply to spread his love around to everyone, high on the belief that anyone with a beating heart needs and deserves it. And of course, sex is a very openly embraced subject. He’ll share details of his rather active and experienced sex life as he pleases, whether or not the opposing party is willing to hear of it. Since it’s a rare occurrence that he ever embarrasses himself, he’s not always quick to realize that he might be making someone uncomfortable. He’ll be entirely persistent on making someone feel like they’re loved and admired, or perhaps help them feel that they don’t need to be alone, choosing not to give up until he’s assured in himself that he’s made someone else happy.
Sometimes he’ll get so wrapped up in spoiling another, as thoughtful as he can very often be, that it will surprise him if he receives anything in return. When he is on the receiving end of compliments or gifts or things of the sort, he’ll put out the type of narcissistic reaction that says he was expecting it.. though in reality he’s very easily flattered and will be eternally grateful if someone were to ever think of him like that. He wouldn’t exactly refer to himself as lonesome, though sometimes he is in need of attention that he might not always be able to attract. He’ll be considerably childish in this aspect, for when he feels he isn’t getting enough attention or he’s being ignored, his attempt to find some will be rather obnoxious. Interrupting conversations, inviting himself into someone’s personal space, even whining and complaining. And though this comes off to others as a mere immature act, it’s stemmed off of a deep rooted fear of actually becoming lonely, and such tactics are the only reaction he will think to do. After all, he wouldn’t want anyone to know of this paranoia.
His initial judgment on just about anything is positive. He will look past the flaws of something inanimate or not, and rather bring light to what makes them beautiful - in terms of appearance, personality, emotional composition. Even things that aren't human are susceptible to this as well: flowers and foliage, animals, clothing, anything of abundant color. It’s easy for such a range of objects to catch his attention, what with how easy it is for him to become distracted. Regardless of gender, looks and anything of the sort, he sees no reason as to why one person should receive any less affection than the other. He believes strongly in equality, and doesn't take discrimination based on race, age, orientation or so. And even if he is so wrapped up in his own heritage, such a strong knack for being social of his will prevent him from overlooking someone based on such statistics as those. He’s a very talkative person, after all, and will be enwrapped in any riveting conversation with someone so long as the topics keep his interest.
However, there are some situations where a more sensitive side of him might show through. Despite what traits of him might be most active and showy, there’s a hidden tenderness to him that he tends to leave behind, susceptible to resurfacing if someone were to hit a soft spot. When not wrapped up in lewd thoughts or dreamily ogling at someone he‘s interacting with, his mind can be a more solemnly thoughtful place - even when there’s a smile on his face. Such a smile seems easygoing and constant, positive and endearing.. though it isn’t always as genuine as one might think it is. Hidden behind his smile can be just the faintest sense of sorrow, whether it’s the result of something past, or something current that might not even directly involve him. Francis can be easily influenced by events that occur around him and to other people - even if he might not care for that person all the time, he’s a sympathetic person when it comes to emotions. He doesn’t like to see other people upset, and whether or not he can relate to something tragic that might have happened to them, he’ll do what he can to try and consult that person and relieve them from their sorrows. On sensitive, or perhaps deep topics, his words can be strong, poetic and practically philosophical when his opinion is shared. Though most of the time, he’ll only be musing to himself.
A trait of him he wouldn’t ever reveal, he does have the tendency to become envious of other people in certain situations. Even though he might think he’s good at hiding it, how he behaves with his own sense of jealousy is never very subtle. He tends to overreact to things as a whole and will be likely to cause a scene over something small, most likely ending up in a pout when something doesn’t end up his way, or when someone else receives something he wanted for himself. While it pleases him to see other couples or friends interacting with one another, he’ll end up envious if attention he specifically seeks does not come to him. While has no wish to cause harm to others, his way of handling himself is yet another childish display of huffing and things of that nature. Though this isn’t always the case, for sometimes he can manage to be a patient man. If there is someone or something he has set his eye on and plans on taking for himself - especially if it is a relationship - he will take his time in slow steps if that seems to be the most perfect approach under the circumstances.
On a more respectable side, Francis is very supportive of other people and the decisions they make. He’ll be willing to offer his advice to others when it comes to the subject of love and relationships and anything in between.. of course, his advice isn’t always what people might be looking for, he might give something a little more forward and vulgar for their tastes.. But he always takes pride in what he has to tell people. He thinks he’s very expert in giving romance advice, usually not paying attention to the fact that other peoples’ love lives are often much different than his own. He’ll encourage people to express themselves in whatever method they see fit, and will make sure that no one is ever ashamed about themselves - their sexuality, their looks, their personalities, any possible trait. He has a particular soft spot for people who are shy, since that gives him the opportunity to both fawn over how preciously adorable they are, as well as assist in getting them to come out of their shells.
Not only will he spoil friends and lovers, but he also has a special part in his heart for family members. He will love them unconditionally (not to mention he has no qualm with incest) and make sure they’re given the attention they need, often questioning them about how their love lives are working out. It’s in that sense that he isn’t really protective of his family, and he will allow them to go out and about and do as they wish, shamelessly supportive and encouraging were they to ever find a potential partner or someone of interest. Only in the face of harm will he be so protective over them, whether or not they’re actually able to defend themselves. He doesn’t want to be too overbearing over family members, after all, and would rather they had the freedom to live their own happy lives as well as balance a good, healthy relationship with himself. He has an uncanny obsession with being called names such as papa or frère, even when it isn’t actual family calling him that.. it will at least give him the beloved feeling of being a big brother. Even close friends will be considered family to him, after all.
If anything, Francis is a superfluously dramatic person and will overreact to even the littlest of incidents. Any wall of masculinity he might be trying to keep in tact will be easily broken by some methods by which he reacts to things. He’ll cry in sessions of sloppy tears and sniffling, all while simultaneously keeping himself graceful and flamboyant at the same time. It’s like a talent, honestly. He’s very easily startled and frightened, including being spooked by people, and in that fear his voice will often get high-pitched and his screams will do well to rival any female currently in the room. And on the other hand, in a spout of love or euphoria or flat out fawning over something, his speech will pour out like he was pulled from a cheesy romance novel scene. It will seem as if he’s trying too hard to be an actor, though most of the time it isn’t even an intentional show that he’s putting on. If words are harsh enough, he will be easily offended, though at the same time he isn’t always weak with his own comebacks. It certainly isn’t uncommon for him to make enemies, and he’ll be incredibly spiteful whenever he’s faced with one. He’s jeering and often thoughtless in his insults, though at times he will know what spots to hit and where it will hurt the most.. sometimes it will seem as if he’s purposefully seeking a reason to argue with someone. And naturally, he hates when he’s proven wrong by someone.
He’s the type of person who will prefer living by his own rules, leading a casual, leisurely life based on what he likes to do. He’s humble around his home and tends to enjoy household things like cooking, cleaning and tending to gardens. He loves to write and attempt spilling all of his most endearing thoughts into words on paper, as well as express himself by other means of art; even if he isn’t always so successful. He doesn’t care much for physical exercise, except for when it’s by means of sex - the excuse he will always use - nor does he show much care for money. He prefers more simple things and simple ways of expressing affection, not by means of spending such large amounts of money on anyone.
Though it’s true he will be unable to keep his hands to himself sometimes, he is well aware of misleading terms that might be used to describe him. Although being called something such as ‘pervert’ might seem easily brushed off, it’s a rather harsh sting to the heart that goes against all he’s trying to express himself as. He doesn’t wish to be known as someone perverted or creepy in his motives, though at times he will be unable to help but think that it’s too late for him to completely change peoples’ minds. Still, that won’t stop him from trying. Even if he might be considered misunderstood, it is true that he won’t always know when to stop when it comes to expressing his love; however, one thing he wouldn’t ever do is force himself on someone. If they really don’t want it and show that they’re unwilling, then Francis won’t push the matter, and will make sure that that person is comfortable instead. After all, he is all for love without pain and without force.
Likes:
Romance / Love | He absolutely loves to see relationships bloom even if he's not involved in them, and in Paris especially, he will love to wander all corners of the city to see what makes them romantic. Whether through physical action or through words, he believes everyone deserves love and strides to make them see that.
Roses | One such symbol of said love and romance, this favorite flower of his can usually be found somewhere on his possession - though more than likely it will end up in the hands of another as a sweet gift. He thinks they're one of the most beautiful things in the world, and their scent usual lingers lightly on him wherever he goes.
France | Very patriotic for his country. He ignores all accusations and stereotypes and instead focuses on the beauty of its culture, plentiful people, and all they have to offer. While he won't mind visiting other places once in a while, he's quick to grow homesick and his land will always be on his mind. So long as there aren't any obnoxious tourists, he loves having visitors.
Sex | Though he has a shameless habit of sleeping around, he'll make sure to spoil all partners he has. So that they feel beautiful and comfortable no matter how they might look, and even if it might happen to him, he won't be the type to abandon them the next morning. Sex is an art and act of love after all (and Francis's only preferred method of exercise) even if it's with a stranger. He won't mind what role or position he's in anyway, so long as there isn't any intentional pain involved.
Wine | The superior drink, especially if it's French made. It's his beverage of choice whether he needs to relax, or is just drinking it for the leisure. He loves going to breweries for taste testing, or simply sharing the drink with others whenever he has company or is on a date.
Fashion | Seeing mannequins in store windows will be one of the most distracting things for him. He adores fashion and all sorts of different designs, trying things on, making other people model things for him. He won't mind whether the outfits he has on are masculine or feminine, whether he's wearing too much clothing, just enough, or not enough at all.
Art | Art is another way of expressing oneself. Painting, sculptures, mosaics, or simple sketches - even if he can't do all of that, he'll enjoy observing others and viewing works in galleries. Though of course, he thinks of almost anything as a work of art. Especially nudity.
Culture | Even if he might seem stuck on his own country, sometimes he'll be interested to hear tidbits about another nation's culture and traditions. Just as many other nations are influenced by France's culture, France is also influenced by some others. Sometimes other places will have traditional ideas that he wish he had adapted as well.
Food | Sometimes he won't even care or pay attention to the quantities of food he's eating, so long as it's good. He'll always be proud of himself for anything he cooks, likely to share his delicacies with others to see what they think. He's a fan of pastry sweets and sparkling drinks, as well as a vast variation of cheeses.
Bragging | Sometimes it very well will be his goal to irritate others, though regardless he'll always be shamelessly boasting a feat he might have achieved to anyone who's unfortunate enough to be around.
Museums | Art museums in particular, since France has plenty of them. They're his way to indulge in history and admire the art he might not ever be able to do himself. He could spend hours in a museum of any sort, admiring paintings and only wishing he could take them home with him.
Small animals | Naturally, small animals are most adorable and less threatening to him - namely small dogs, cats and birds. Especially creatures that are able to be groomed and spoiled into one of those fancy, furry pets, like Persians or poodles, that you can carry along in little purses or bags with you. He currently owns a small white bird named Pierre.
Architecture | Even outside of France, old Romantic and Gothic style buildings and monuments are most fascinating to him. They're his favorite things to visit when he's out and about or touring another place, and sometimes he will wish he was around when all these famous landmarks were being built. He takes most pride in the Eiffel Tower, of course, and has dined inside there many times.
Perfume | How many things can one man smell like? On rare occasions he will wear perfume, even in preference over wearing cologne. He believes very well that no lady or man will be able to resist the scent of sweet perfume.
Sad Movies | French movies can be infamous for their saddening endings. He loves a movie that can bring out someone's more sensitive side, and whether or not he has someone viewing it with him he won't be afraid to show such a side with a dramatic fit of sobbing.
Theatre | Plays and musicals are always a nice change of pace, now that cinemas are most often taking over the entertainment business. Not that he minds actual films, but plays he feels are classic and a more moving experience than anything else.
Physical Contact | He's a very touchy person, one might think he has no sense or respect for personal space. He only enjoys touching people, innocent intent or not, so long as they don't mind it. Since he doesn't always ask first before doing it, he's used to the usual smack or so as his blatant "no" response - and that's all he needs.
Nudity | The nude form is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, he believes. He isn't afraid to flaunt his own out in public, or during the least expected times. He even finds it charming in sculptures or in drawings, pleased to know that he isn't the only one who feels the human body is a work of art in itself.
Cleanliness / Hygiene | Getting dirty isn't always that bad, though in most occasions when he's out in public, he'll want to look clean and impressing to strangers. He wouldn't want people to get the wrong idea about him, after all, if he were always in a mess. Most of all, however, he only cares that his hair is most styled and of the best presentable quality.
Cooking | Cooking is one of his stronger passions, considering he had begun mastering it at a younger age. Of course, he focuses on cooking every French delicacy out there and eagerly seeks learning new recipes. He enjoys cooking for himself just as much as others, especially foreign visitors who he believes haven't yet had the honor of trying his cuisine.
Singing | He isn't the best at singing, really, but he won't admit to it. Nor will he accept any negative criticism. He'll sing when he's cooking or when he's in the shower, or really any time he feels like it, thinking he's got the most angelic voice.
Shopping | It's irresistible for him to go out and renew his wardrobe with the new latest fashions. Not only clothing, but he'll buy anything of value, especially when it's a gift meant for someone else. Roses, chocolates, jewelry, things of that romantic sort.
Telling Stories | He likes to read storybooks out loud, or simply tell stories that have been passed down through generations. With his love for history, he likes sharing stories of France's past as well as its various myths and folktales.
Giving The Talk | He certainly won't censor himself when it comes to giving the talk. He doesn't mind teaching younger people about sex, regardless of their age. He couldn't care less if it embarrasses someone, since it's something he believes they need to be enlightened about during some point in their life, even better if they are informed at a younger age. That can get him in trouble sometimes, however.
Dislikes:
English food | One of the worst things about being here. He doesn't think English food is very tasteful or well cooked, so he always opts to do his own cooking at home.
Rudeness | If someone is rude to him, he'll be rude right back. He can be a pretty snobby person after all, not at all the type of person to allow someone else to think they're above him. He thinks bullies are just attention whores, anyway.. well, he might be one himself, but he doesn't use that as an approach.
Smoking | What a poor, terrible thing to do to one's lungs. Since he doesn't want to risk cancer or destroying his voice and lungs, he deliberately stays away from cigarettes and smoke in general. Wine isn't too good on the liver either, but its elegance totally makes up for that.
Bossiness | Very stubborn when it comes to someone pushing and bossing him around. He's self-governed and prefers to do things on his own accord, and will be disobedient and childish out of spite for someone who wants him to do something for them. If they ask nicely, he'll be happy to oblige, otherwise they'll receive a rather bratty response.
Francophobia | It doesn't make sense to him that someone can dislike his country. There's so much about the place that he could tell to someone, that it baffles and upsets him to think someone doesn't like it. Of course, that makes him hypocritical with his dislike for England, but this is Francis and he's conceited and therefore it's different. He'll be desperate and never give up trying to change someone's mind about the beauty of his country.
Other languages | He doesn't like to learn other languages, even though he had to learn English. It's a burden and he doesn't find other accents as flattering on his tongue, since his is, of course, the language of love.
Being called old | As much as he hates insults in general, no other insult will bother him as much as this one. He's honestly afraid of getting old, thinking of what the wrinkles and white hair might do to his appearance.. and for someone to think he's old already with his age and how he looks, it's almost a frightening thought. So, he tries to look as young and fresh as he can.
Fire | Fire can destroy such things in an instant that he tries to avoid it. It can ruin homes and clothes and people in general, so he's usually very wary about keeping small fires under control and making sure he's not wearing anything that can easily catch fire.
Wasting things | He makes sure to put things to their complete use and advantage before they're tossed away. Seeing food being thrown into the trash is abhorred, and he'll woe over the fact he isn't always able to save it. He'll be wise about what he spends money on and make sure nothing goes to waste.
Rejection | Such a cold dagger to the heart. He does actually try hard sometimes to gain someone's acceptance and affection, and when he's put so much effort into trying to make someone see something, it's one of the biggest let downs to be met with rejection. If it happens, he might just close himself away for some time until he's ready to try again.
Violence | He doesn't see the reason for using violence to get what you want. He can be a protestant person, though he'll use calmer methods to get what he wants. He does like fencing, but the use of weapons for actual harming means is something he fears, and he'll try to back out of a fight if it ever begins to spiral out of control. He hates that stereotype about French people always surrendering, of course, but sometimes he can't help but be cowardly in such situations.
Misconceptions | Being misunderstood is always a difficult situation to get himself out of. It's too often that he comes off as someone he isn't, and sometimes he will actually fear that someone thinks he's a different, worse person than he really is. He tries to come off with good intent, though sometimes his eagerness to be friendly with people earns him a few odd stares and even worse name calling.
Horror | Blood and gore is never an interest of his, and horror movies can easily scare him out of his mind. People can easily scare him as well if they're much larger and stronger than he is, even though he will try to negotiate with them. He'll be afraid of the dark if he doesn't have someone nearby with him.
Big Dogs | They're so frightening the way they jump on you and slobber all over the place. He just stays away from big dogs as a whole, not wanting anyone to find out his fear toward them.
Fears:
Being Ignored | With all the effort he puts into being noticed and being presentable, he fears that someone will completely look past him and not recognize him at all. There's a sense of denial in him that he isn't lonely and isn't afraid of being lonely.. but really, that's something that can be easily broken. He'll tell himself over and over that that isn't true, that he's needed and his company is loved by anyone, otherwise he doesn't need them.. but it doesn't always makes matters better or lift his spirits for him.
Becoming Unattractive | This is almost as scary as being forgotten! For someone to call him ugly would come as a shock to him, and for once he might even be worried about his appearance and that everyone else might also think he's ugly. He'll fret about this even if someone is joking around about it.
Losing Everything | He cherishes most of his possessions and keeps them for sake of memory and even company, and fears that things that are close to him will be taken away. He can't imagine how he would live if he were on the streets, without anybody for his own, without any career or money or things of that sort. Sometimes he can take what he has for advantage and not consider those who are less fortunate than he is.
Prison | That's a lifestyle he can't imagine either, if he were confined to a solitary cell for any length of time (anything that remotely resembles prison). He tries to stay away from crime as much as he can, in that case, not that he ever considers doing anything so drastic.
Electric Razors | The mere sound of an electric razor will send him running. He fears losing his hair or his stubble at the hands of someone else when he doesn't want it to be shaven, and would rather any treatment of his hair was done at his own accord and by his own hand. He wouldn't trust anyone else with a razor of any sort.
Strengths:
Sees beauty in all things | His initial judgment on just about anything is positive. He will look past the flaws of something inanimate or not, and rather bring light to what makes them beautiful - in terms of appearance, personality, emotional composition. Regardless of gender, looks and anything of the sort, he sees no reason as to why one person should receive any less affection than the other. He believes strongly in equality, and doesn't take discrimination based on race or age or so. Even things that aren't human are susceptible to this as well.
Narcissism | He believes strongly in himself and is usually well kept with little self-conscience or insecurities. He holds himself to a most important role and will often consider himself superior to others, especially anything pertaining to his culture and his language. It isn't easy to break down those confident walls of his, for he is painfully persistent when it comes to the matter. He comes off as haughty in this sense, always thinking so highly of himself and passing off opposing thoughts with a flick of his wrist; though his emotions don't always hold up so strongly with the rest of him.
Charm | Leading an experienced life, he has a way with words and looks and knows just how and when to use them. He can meander his way out of tricky situations with a shower of charm and compliments, or so he believes, a method that never happens to fail him. He will resort to negative comments when such a necessity comes, though shameless flattery and a clever tongue is always his first priority. Sometimes it can be for tease, though blushing or not, he solely enjoys the chance to make others happy and feel better about themselves.
Determination | He's a headstrong character with an enormous ego and sense of pride, and therefore he doesn't give up easily on anything that head gets itself around. He puts plenty of thought and effort into things, making the best of ideas that come from his mind and making sure they are as presentable as they can be; especially in terms of impressing certain people.
Family Complex | Francis has always been good with those who are younger than he, fond of caring for children and maintaining close relations with family. He shows utmost care and affection in their presence, and often has the habit of acting brotherly to those who aren't even related to him.
Weaknesses:
Easily Distracted | Just about anything can catch his eye as long as it's pretty and has plenty of color. He's easily lured and drawn to things that appeal to his senses, which can occasionally be picky; but for the most part, that can apply everywhere. People, of course, particular smells and sounds, flowers, flashy lights, those pretty outfits in a store display window.
Jealousy | Despite being rather conceited, with his crave for attention he can easily become jealous of someone possibly having something he might want for himself, or if someone is receiving more attention than he is.
Stubborn | If his mind is set on doing something his way, it will be tough to get that to change. He's mostly stubborn when it comes to doing something not in his favor, and nagging him will only get him to behave childishly and with a huff.
Compulsive | He will occasionally react or act upon something on impulse, and that might not always land him in the best situations.
His Hair | He's honestly like a woman when it comes to his hair, and he absolutely abhors if someone or something touches it without his permission. He won't mind people coming to admire it, though any attempt to maim it will have him like an over-protective parent.
Build | He isn't exactly the most muscular or strong of men, since despite his skill with the rapier and such, he has never been one for skill in actual fighting. He can come off as weak even though he isn't exactly so, though he prefers not to contribute strength to the harming of others unless it's necessary. Violence toward himself usually renders an over-dramatic, pouty reaction before anything else.
History: Francis was born in what he considers to be the very heart of France, the capital city that he grew to love and that had dazzled him since childhood. It was on Bastille Day in 1988 that Pierre and Véronique had their first and only child, having already eagerly prepared themselves for the day that this would happen. Because Francis grew without any siblings to spend his time with, his parents spoiled him immensely. They were one of the richer families of Paris, since his father worked as a doctor and his mother a model; even with their busy schedules, they made sure that young Francis received all the attention he needed. When they couldn't be around the house, he was left with a babysitter.
His parents bought him a number of decorative and leisurely items, often giving in to anything that he requested from them. In school he liked to boast about how wealthy he and his household were, not realizing that not everyone else had the same privileges as he did. His arrogance and habit for bragging didn't land him with many friends, however, but he tried not to let that get to him. Loneliness didn't seem like a problem before he had reached adolescence. By the time he was on his way to high school, it was pointed out to him that his Name had finally shown up. His lower back was a peculiar place, since he couldn't see it without the help of a mirror, but something made him pleased to know that it was there.
Approaching closer to his teenage years, Francis had begun to develop a certain charm about him. Since he didn't have too many companions, he liked to spend his time out in Paris whenever he got out of the house - strolling the streets and regarding any significant monuments, taking to the park to watch those who made their presences here. He found the city in its entirety to be romantic, charming in its sweep what with all the lights that twinkle at night, the number of romantic couples you see here and there. While his parents did want their son to be a charismatic man, his father in particular had another plan for him; wanting Francis to become a doctor like himself. He pressed on the young man to enroll himself in pre-med classes, which Francis did try for a number of weeks.. and soon learned that he couldn't handle anything having to do with gore.
That career certainly wasn't pursued from that point on, and instead Francis decided to take his own path; not only was he becoming what others would call a casanova in society, he was developing a stronger interest in the culinary arts. There is no better food, he firmly believed, than the cuisine that came out of France. Although he was aware that there was someone else out there that shares his True Name, Francis lost his feline attributes at a ripe age. Flings for him were quite common, since he wanted to make sure that those he met earned the type of attention they deserve, especially if they were currently without their true other halves.
He went on to continue his culinary studies at the Sorbonne (Paris University) and land himself in a number of careers - he started out working for cafes, bakeries, and later on restaurants - but then decided that he wanted to try his hand at catering. The job has kept him content since then, what with the chance to provide his perfect delicacies at all places of entertainment, whether rich and high-quality or simply for leisure. He's been able to keep up his social habits all while expanding on his skills in cooking. As reluctant as he was to ever leave the city of Paris, or so he thought, he ended up travelling to other places once he was out of college. Graduate programs led him to the city of Blackpool in England which, while he rather abhorred the idea of going to this country of all places, had a certain feel to it. A feeling that drew him in so strangely that he ended up staying here longer than he initially intended. He and the English people don't seem to get along too well, but he's at least managed to meet a few more interesting people in the city, perhaps one of which will be the one he's always been waiting for. His habit of sleeping around hasn't quite been tamed, and most likely that's his own attempt to make himself feel anything other than lonesome and show that he's capable of surviving without his other half. At least for the time being.

He was no longer acknowledging the weaponry between them, and instead studious attention was paid toward Arthur's own visage - even with particular interest taken in watching Arthur's eyes, he could see the shifts in the man's expression, the bout of inner conflict he seemed to have briefly undergone. That pair of emerald eyes that opposed him did appear alert yet worn down, as far as he could see, perhaps even ignited with the faintest amount of hope. Though he did assume that that was hope he was seeing, Francis knew better than to expect Arthur would outwardly convey any such feelings. It was further relieving to know that he wasn't the only one experiencing hope and relief here, even if both men were stubborn to show it.
Francis's posture remained rigid despite the aching in his limbs. He stood still even as Arthur was approaching, now able to see the man's distinct expression at a closer proximity. He watched with composed eyes as Arthur's eyebrows drew together, a surefire sign that he was about to be scolded - not that Francis was exactly prepared to listen to him at a time like this, or ever at all. Even as he was handled and pulled from his standstill with a grip that was tighter than necessary, the Frenchman made no effort to protest - and there was, in fact, the slightest of smirks on his face once Arthur's lecture had ended and the two were standing at an even closer and more compromising distance than prior.
"By coming out 'ere all on your own, I presume, you 'ave put yourself in as much danger as I 'ave," he mused, using Arthur's presence as an excuse not to sound as terrified as he was on the journey here. The arm not possessed by a tight vice lifted between them, the pad of his thumb sweeping along Arthur's lower lip in a thoughtless gesture. His eyes were focused on that mouth all the while, keeping his voice at a similarly quiet volume. "I was out 'ere looking for someone, not you in particular, but anyone. We 'ave to venture out at some point, it would not do anyone any good to stay 'idden in one spot to rot ou go insane ou whatever stupid zings ze Manor wants to do wiz us. Zough now zat we've wandered 'ere to each ozer's arms, I suppose we 'ave no choice but to stay togezer for safety, mm..?"
As his speech climbed he found himself heedlessly leaning closer to Arthur's ear, perhaps getting carried away with the lure of the man's scent. Whichever intoxicating mix of tea and other homely smells it happened to be, it was distracting him from the matter at hand: the less alluring scenery around them and the revolting scents that lingered in darker corners.
Francis leaned back with a clear of his throat, now lowering his hand to attempt prying Arthur's tight grip off of him. Without stepping back from their close stance, he finally went on to address the man's question. As important as his own well-being was, naturally, he didn't forget his worrying over Arthur's health just yet. "Aside from zese bruises I will now 'ave on my arm, I'm fine. Just exhausted now, and.. well, you look a little worse, don't you? Are you still keeping yourself togezer?"
